​​BASIC INCIPIENT FIRE FIGHTING​

​Incipient Fire Fighting -

​

​This 4 hour course, required for personnel with potential exposures to flammable materials, was developed under the direction of a Certified Safety Professional; Certified NFPA Fire Instructor Level I & II, and focuses on prevention, detection and extinguish, of incipient fires, complying with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157, API RP 14G and RP 75 SEMP as recognized by the BSEE. This course also satisfies Fire Watch training requirements.

In the actual hands-on fire-fighting portion, the student, using dry chemical and/or CO2 portable extinguishers, wheeled units, foam and water spray applications, will fight fires in depth and with obstacles. Personnel utilize an excellent training manual to facilitate learning and are required to pass a written test.

      Effective Discharge Time); Review of USCG fire Fighting Regulations
6.   Analyzing a fire situation – Correct actions discussed
7.   Fire drills and smoke drills-how to conduct and evaluate
8.   BLEVE-dangers & precautions
9.   Wheeled Dry Chemical Units
10. Water Spray Equipment
11.  Foam Systems
12. Inspection/Recharge procedures (Portable extinguishers)
13.  Fire Detection-Portable gas detector use
14.  BSEE Regulations- Hot Work permitting, Fire Safety Systems
15.  First Aid treatment for burns
16.  Written Exam
